Before The Marketing Dollars: Lady Gaga (Video Inside)

Artists are reluctant to let their team shape and mold their brand and often cite a desire to not “sell out” and be commercialized. Usually they list the standard “rebellious” artist who’s having commercial success the irony is that these are usually the most overdone artists. Lady Gaga is a perfect example here she is before the marketing dollars.

My Idols: Quincy Jones

So ummm I guess its kinda cliche so I’ll skip the reasons why Quincy is my favorite producer/composer of all time. I mean he is ubiquitous with some of the greatest records, movie themes and albums of all time and has been a game changer in music for decades. From being a founding father and avid supporter of hip hop (Yup check the interview below he believed in it before it was even viewed as a commercially viable genre or business) to adding a lil soul to Frank Sinatra to “Big Girls Don’t Cry” to MJ, Quincy is the blueprint of modern music. Without further ado here is the story of the James Brown of Producing Mr Quincy Jones as told by none other than Mr Quincy Jones:
